The Nativity: the Birth of Jesus

In a little town called Bethlehem, in a humble stable, the Savior of the world was born. All of Christmas is born from this scene: God chose to arrive as a child.
The story
A census of the emperor forced Joseph to travel with Mary, who was expecting a child, from Nazareth to Bethlehem, the city of his ancestors. When they arrived, there was no room for them at the inn.
That night, in a stable, Mary gave birth to Jesus. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger. The King of kings came into the world with no palace, no throne, and no noise.
Nearby, shepherds were keeping watch over their flocks. An angel announced great joy to them: 'Today a Savior has been born to you, who is Christ the Lord.' They ran and found everything just as they had been told, and returned glorifying God.
What it teaches
In the Nativity, Catholics contemplate the heart of the faith: God became man out of love for us. He chose the humility of a manger so that no one — not the poorest, not the smallest — would ever feel unable to come close to him.
The tradition of the Nativity scene we set up at home each Christmas was started by Saint Francis of Assisi in the year 1223, so that everyone could see this scene with their own eyes.
